Carla Bormolini

Registered Psychologist

Carla is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working across a range of areas including the management of stress and anxiety, depression, loss and grief and in various mental health, family and adult counselling contexts. Her work and experience have included working in educational settings (both mainstream and adult), the corporate area and in community environments supporting parents and families.

Carla’s experience in education settings have provided a good understanding of how schools operate and the pressures on students, teachers and parents in managing mental health, academic concerns and developing positive wellbeing and resilience.

 Her own experience of the corporate working space adds further understanding to the management of workplace stress and anxiety for both employees and employers especially in these recent challenging times.

Carla also has extensive experience in the area of loss and grief and continues to deliver training to counsellors, psychologists and school chaplains in a school-based programme called Seasons for Growth.

Carla is passionate about supporting individuals during difficult and challenging times to make positive changes and achieve their optimum potential in health, work and relationships.  She is trained across many evidence- based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness based approaches, Positive Psychology and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing. Carla is a lifelong learner and continues to stay current with developments in neuroscience offering new learnings to managing the challenges of mental health.

Outside Professional Life

Carla has always enjoyed a busy working and family life, centered around the importance of good health and well-being and being actively engaged with family and friends.

Carla has travelled extensively with her family throughout both the vast areas of our state and country and across different parts of the world, supporting an appreciation and further understanding of people and other cultures and a gratitude for Western Australia and its beauty.

A genuine empathy and care towards helping and mentoring others characterises Carla as a person. Positive and practical in her approach to life, she always seeks the best in situations and in those around her. Enjoying good times in the company of family and friends is a favorite past time.
