Tara holds Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology) and Master of Psychology (Counselling) degrees and is endorsed as a Counselling Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She has over 15 years of experience as a Counselling Psychologist and has worked in various clinical and forensic settings. Tara also has substantial experience in forensic assessment, report writing and providing testimony in Court as an expert witness. She completed her PhD research on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) symptoms in adults.
Tara’s therapeutic style is client-centred and holistic. She is empathetic, supportive and respectful. Tara provides clients with a warm and validating experience of counselling, offering a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to self-reflect, to understand the issues they are facing and to facilitate change. She is trained and experienced in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Imagery Rescripting, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
